We are the Isle of Wight Ramblers. We arrange walks, monitor paths and help our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Not entirely sure our precise route yet until I’ve recce’d it – this entry will be updated in due course, so please check back nearer the time. But it will be a leisurely summer circular walk of five-ish miles starting from St Helens Green car park (free parking / toilets), with a drinks and snack stop towards the end of the walk at St Helens Duver / Old Church (ice creams / toilets). A mix of country and seaside walking.

By public transport
There is a No 8 bus from Newport Bus Station at 08.45 which arrives at St Helens Green (Vine pub) at 09.52, and a No 8 bus from Ryde Interchange at 09.40 which arrives at St Helens Green (Vine pub) at 10.09. Meet at the car park which is just across the Green).

Depending on the weather, consider suitable clothing, footwear, walking pole(s), sun cream, drinks, and food. Watch out for ticks and remove ASAP. If you are unsure about your ability to undertake this walk, please contact the walks leader. If you need to leave the walking group, please ensure you inform the leader or back marker.
There are short sections of road walking so please walk in single file and take good care.

If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
