From Stainburn Moor car park we take the track down past Scargill reservoir through wooland into the valley. A gentle climb takes us up to a farm, where we turn left and walk on through more woodland to Beaverdyke and John O'Gaunts reservoirs. From here we head across feilds (some undulations and styles) eventually reaching the hamlet of Norwood. We cross Leathley Road and again pick up feilds which drop down to a little stream (which can be quite full if there's been a lot of rain). Crossing the stream we have a gentle climb to a minor road, which we cross and climb out of that valley through another field. We then pick up a driveway taking us back up to Leathley Road, which we cross again to enter Stainburn forest and our path through the woods back to the car park.
