Overview

Feel the holiday vibe in Stratford Upon Avon and take a stroll down the river with me from the famous Gower Memorial opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Highlights of this beautiful hike include rolling wide open fields, horse pastures, the pretty villages of Clifford Chambers and Preston on Stour and wonderful views of Alscot Park House.

We'll meet by The Gower Memorial. This is a large bronze memorial dedicated to William Shakespeare and it is situated opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre just before you reach the river coming from the town centre. It's a 20 minute walk from the train station and about a 5 minute walk from the leisure centre if driving. You can get the 8.39 am train from Birmingham Moor Street arriving at 9.34 am or if driving one option is to park at the Leisure Centre in the long stay car park, which costs around £8 for the day.
