From the village the route heads north west through Abbey Bank Woods over to Cam Farm. After a brief stop for drinks we head west to Cockerdale Farm and beyond to a by-way leading north to Scotch Corner with its War Memorial Chapel built by John Bunting in the late 1950's. Further on, and soon after Shaw's Gate, a path ascending south along High Town Bank takes us to a road leading into the village of Oldstead and on to Oldstead Grange. After a walk across the fields to Byland Abbey it is a short distance back to Wass.
