NOTE THAT THIS WALK IS DIFFERENT FROM THAT IN THE TRIFOLD LEAFLET
Circular walk along River Tweed, then walk winds through open woodlands to Traquair village and then gradual ascent of short section of Southern Upland Way. We cut across lower slopes of Taniel Hill with superb views of the Traquair Estate and across to Lee Pen. We descend Taniel Hill on gravel path and return to Innerleithen via Toll Wood. Bring drink & snack for couple stops to admire views. Opportunity to visit local cafe following walk.
Terrain: short section of pavement on busy A72 & then riverside path (may be muddy if rain prior to walk), woodland paths. Hall Street car park may be busy at weekend but there is additional parking available along side of Victoria Park on Hall Street. Public toilets at start/finish of walk.
Circular walk, grade C+, moderate. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
