We will follow the tide out going first to the Little eye, then the middle eye then onto the main island. We should see plenty of wading birds and seals with good views over to the North Wales coast. We will have plenty of time to explore the islands as the predicted time of the high tide, we don't have to leave the islands until 4pm.
It takes around 1 to 1.5 hours walking to the main island approx 2 miles each way.
You will need footwear suitable for wet sand/slippery rocks eg walking sandals, boots or wellingtons. Bare foot is not advisable as there may be weaver fish, sharp rocks or broken glass. There is no shelter on the island so bring extra layers and waterproofs.
It is our aim to picnic on the main island, so please bring a packed lunch and drinks. There will be time at the end of the walk for people to either do a circuit of the Marine Lake or head along the coast to Red Rocks.
There is free car parking all along the seafront/Marine Lake, otherwise there is a pay and display parking approx £5 in the Morrisons car park. CH48 0QA Toilets available in Morrisons 10-4pm.
