Overview

A circular walk led by Nigel S (Mobile Number: 07793 629809). Route: Ridgeway Trail, used for more than 5,000 years, to Ivinghoe Beacon, picnic lunch, widespread views given the right conditions. Then south on little used footpaths to join a broad track through well maintained NT woodlands and some open views of downland to the Bridgewater Monument, hot drinks, snacks and toilets. From here the route descends to the attractive village of Aldbury with a 600 year old church. A level path through fields returns us to Tring Station. In wet weather walking poles are recommended.
