Overview

THIS WALK IS OFFERED IN ADDITION TO THE GRADE B+ SCHIL WALK FROM HALTERBURN

This walk explores the Tweed between Peebles and Lyne, using parts of the dismantled railway line and riverside paths.  The route is mainly level with a short climb after the Manor bridges, taking in a view point with lovely views west down the Tweed valley, before returning to Peebles through woodland.  The terrain is mostly good paths, a brief section with awkward tree roots and rocks near Neidpath Castle.  Some stretches can be muddy.  Boots or strong shoes are recommended and poles could be useful particularly though the woodland.  Bring drink and snacks for 3 stops.
