Walk details
This 7.5-mile circular walk begins at Charlbury station, leading us through the charming Cotswold town of Charlbury. As we meander through its picturesque streets, we'll take in the classic honey-hued stone cottages and historic buildings before making our way onto the Oxfordshire Way. Here, the path travels through a woodland coridoor, with dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, creating a peaceful atmosphere to start our journey.
After a lunch stop, we’ll continue onwards to the beautiful village of Stonesfield. From Stonesfield, our route joins the Wychwood Way, where we’ll be treated to stunning views of the rolling Cotswold hills and expansive open fields. The gentle undulations of the landscape offer a perfect backdrop for this scenic stretch.
The final leg of our walk takes us back towards Charlbury, passing through more open countryside before re-entering the town. We’ll enjoy a pleasant stroll through Charlbury once more, taking in its timeless charm, before arriving back at the station to complete our circular route. This walk offers a wonderful mix of woodland, countryside, and village scenery — a perfect day out exploring the heart of the Cotswolds.
