Two Forts walk from Brecon *

From Brecon Promenade the walk follows a green lane along the route of the old Roman road to the site of the Roman fort west of Brecon. After visiting the fort we follow paths by the Afon Yscir and then head along minor roads to pick up a path which ascends the hillfort at Pen y Crug before returning to Brecon. There is some road walking on this route and paths may be muddy in wet weather.

PS: The Museum at Y Gaer, Brecon will be open till 5pm if anyone wishes to visit the David Jones exhibition following the walk.
