Walk from Nelson's Pit Car Park, Higher Poynton

This is an 8 mile leisurely walk starting from Nelson Pit car park, Higher Poynton, Grid Reference SJ944833, meeting near the toilets. The route is along the canal then into Lyme Park, then Bollinhurst reservoir, then East Lodge and centre of Lyme Park where there are toilets. Lunch will be here then return via Throstlenest Farm and along the canal to the start. The ascent is 840 ft.
