Overview

A brisk walk so that we can keep warm and get back before it gets dark.  We pass a network of lakes created by former gravel pits, marshes, farmland and the River Lee Navigation. The area includes Sites of Scientific Interest and is a haven for water birds. It can be muddy in places.

Toilets - use toilet on Greater Anglia train; just 1 disabled toilet at the station; about 30 minutes into the walk at Fishers Green; and the Old Mill lunch spot.

Lunch - Late ish lunch, bring picnic.  Tiny café that can be very busy, provides hot drinks. Pub drinks only.

Drop out point - You can leave the walk at lunch time picking up a train back to London from Broxbourne station.

Train - Greater Anglia: 9.58 Liverpool Street Station, 10.10 Tottenham Hale. Buy return to Cheshunt.

OR
Weaver Line (formerly Overground line) 9.45 Liverpool Street Station, 10.02 Seven Sisters. Freedom pass valid to Cheshunt.
