We are the North Dorset Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

A different walk from previous years. Same starting place. Still very flat and so very different to the landscape of North Dorset.
We head across fields to the village of Westhay to Honeygar Farm and lunch at the Avalon Marshes Centre. Bring your own lunch or buy a hot one on the day. We walk back along a track through the Shapwick Heath reserve including a short detour to view the reconstruction of the Sweet Track, originally built in 3708 BC.
The walk ends back at the car park but this is good spot keep an eye out for the daily evening gathering of Starlings, otherwise known as a murmuration.
Those staying for the murmuration please bring extra layers of clothing as it can get bitter just standing and waiting,
