This walk starts in Welburn, a couple of miles from Castle Howard, meeting on the village green outside the Crown & Cushion. It's a relatively straightforward walk in and around the estate. We walk in an anti-clockwise direction, initially away from Castle Howard across a number of fields and along a series of tracks before we reach the edge of Castle Howard's grounds. From here we can see various architectural relics including New River bridge and a temple. We cross the bridge and work our way back to Welburn. After we have removed our walking boots, there is an option for a cold or hot refreshment in the local pub.
🅿️ On-street parking near the church (a few minutes walk from the meeting point) or on the main street – please allow plenty of time to find somewhere to park and get to the meeting point
