We will stroll through the beautiful countryside surrounding Benenden as we pass through apple orchards, a pine forest, a Christmas tree farm and Hole Park, famous for it's wonderful display of Bluebells in the spring. Then touch on the village of Rolvenden, where we can stop for a short snack and drink break. This is the home of the Morgan Motor Museum, then we circle back to Benenden stopping at an amazing Open Garden run by Pete and Sara which has to be seen to be believed.
Their 4.5 acre garden boasts a wildflower meadow, a woodland walk to a WWII bomb crater - now a wildlife pond and as if that was not enough to tempt you, Pete has been busy building follies and planting over 100 trees whilst Sara is ready to welcome you to her art studio. Entrance to the garden is £5 with all proceeds going to The Hospice in the Weald and tea and cakes will be available. I suggest we aim to spend 45 minutes there before rejoining as a group to finish our walk heading back to green for a well earned drink at The Bull pub in the village for those who so wish.
Please note:- NO DOGS PLEASE. The walk passes through fields of cows and sheep. During the recce a number of the stiles were tricky to navigate and several areas overgrown with thistles, brambles and nettles so I would advise walking boots and long trousers. There are no facilities on this route
