Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

A re-run of this walk from March which was shortened - this will be the full version. From Carr Lane a steady ascent on woodland paths to the final climb up to the summit of Win Hill.  Descending through pinewoods and alongside Ladybower Reservoir back to Yorkshire Bridge.  By a back road and fields to Bamford Mill to cross the weir on the river Derwent, then across fields to reach the Thornhill Trail and return to the cars. (If the weir crossing is closed, we will return on a slightly longer path along Water Lane). Risk assessment: A steady ascent for about an hour to Win Hill.  Well defined paths but muddy after wet weather.  Three stiles as we come into Bamford village which are in reasonable condition but two are very narrow! Some care is required in crossing the weir and the A6013 twice.
