Overview

A circular walk from Pateley Bridge starting at the Nidd Walk Long Stay Car Park.  Parking Charge £1.70 all day.

We walk along the path to Glasshouses where we begin the ascent passing Bobbin Mill Cottage and Guise Cliff Tarn to reach the Nidderdale Way.  We then pass Yorke's Folly on our way to pass through the heather on Nought Moor. On leaving the Moor we pass  Noonstone Farm to reach the road.  Then we cross the Greenhow Road just below Coldstones Cut and begin our downhill return. We pass Hillend , Mosscar Bottom, and caravan sites to join the stream for our way back to Pateley.

There is Bracken and Heather on the route and some sections are wet and slightly muddy.

The climb through Guise Cliff Wood is steep but we will take our time on this section and keep in contact with the whole group..

On a good day the views of Nidderdale are excellent.

Coffee break will be at Yorkes Folly after 2.5 miles. Hopefully Lunch will be after the Greenhow Road with good views. Afternoon stop in the Valley.
