This walk is a bit of a historical trail through Clovenfords and down to Caddonfoot.
Start by crossing to Millbank Road to the location of Clovenfords oldest school.
We will cross the A72 carefully, then take the Green Road to Caddonfoot. This former drove road is an easy walk of about a mile which emerges behind Caddonfoot Church. We wander through the “prayer walk “and then into the graveyard at the side of the church.
After a snack stop, we walk carefully along the verge of the road that takes us past the former Caddonfoot Primary School to the “closed road “.
Walking up the closed road we pass the King George V playing fields and then cross the A72 to the start.
There are 2 stiles and a small section of path at the back of the church is overgrown.
Stout shoes / boots and poles recommended.
Circular walk, grade D, leisurely. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
