Starting point:
We will meet on the Lewknor side of the B4009 next to the road sign for Hill Farm with bridleway and footpath signs also attached.
The rendezvous group doing the longer version from Cowleaze Wood will meet you, after approaching from the Hill Road bridleway (formerly a road) on the other side of the B4009 and crossing over it to you. Alan will be with that group.
Description:
If possible please book your tickets in advance £8.67 from https://adwellvintagevehicleshow.co.uk/home/ Profits go to a charity which give equestrian experiences to disabled children. Tickets at the gate may be more expensive.
Food and drink may be purchased at the event or carry your own food.
We will set off from the Hill Road road-sign on the B4009 at 10.45am (Alan the walk leader will rendezvous with you at that time, bringing the group from Cowleaze Wood) at the intersection of the Hill Road footpath and the B4009 (where there are several parking laybys) taking the Hill Road bridleway to Lewknor, turning right at the Leathern Bottle, through St. Margaret’s Churchyard in Lewknor and well kept garden and field footpaths, over a bridge with two easy stiles and along to the quiet Weston Road. At South Weston we take a footpath to tranquil fields following a small river, escaping the hum of the M40. We will see some interesting historical buildings at Park Farm, next to Wheatfield Park before reaching a small road which takes us to Adwell House.
Adwell Vintage Vehicle Show is a great day out with a splendid display of cars, motorcycles and bicycles and more.
* Wander around the gardens which are only open 3 times a year
* Live music and the Watlington Concert Band playing throughout the day

The beautiful grounds of Adwell House, Adwell, Oxfordshire, is a Grade II* listed manor house and the family seat of the Birch Reynardson family rebuilt in the C18th on the site of a C17th one. The garden has ponds and unusual plants. The Church Adwell St. Mary, next-door is worth a look too.
We will re-group at 3.30pm to walk back to Lewknor by the same very pleasant route in reverse at moderate pace.
Well behaved dogs are allowed but must have a lead for nature reserve and Adwell House grounds.
