Meet on Roman Road (opposite the Walnut Tree pub). Please park considerately on nearby roads.
A walk through the woods along the Saxon Shore Way, passing by an ancient priory to reach the National Nature Reserve woodland at Hamstreet. After a lunch stop in Hamstreet (where there is a pub and cafes - but please make your own arrangements or bring a packed lunch), we will return along the Royal Military Canal Path - where we may spot swans, herons, egrets and maybe even a kingfisher – passing by Ruckinge and Bilsington to St Rumwolds Church, Bonnington where we will begin a steady – but not steep climb back to Aldington.
Well-behaved dogs welcome on lead.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink. Refreshments available from the Walnut Tree on our return.
