From the Venison Centre we follow a Roman road to ascend gradually to the top of the Allt where there are fine views of the Usk valley, Bannau Brycheiniog, the Black Mountains and Llangorse lake. We will descend to the lake and visit a bird hide before following paths and lanes to Pennorth. From here we will follow paths back up to the side of the Allt through fields and woodland, to visit a ruined Hunting lodge before returning climbing back up to the Allt and then back to the Venison centre.

Welsh Venison Centre, Middlewood Farm, Bwlch. From Crickhowell follow A40 through Bwlch. Just past the village turn Right at the sign for the Venison Centre. Follow lane until it bends sharply to the right. On the left hand side of the bend you will see sign to the Venison centre; go through gates up track to the Centre.
