A walk with Terry starts from Holy Trinity Church, Ashford-in-the-Water. On road parking nearby, there is a small car park to the back of the church with toilets albeit a £3 honesty box charge. There is, in my opinion good on street parking along Fennel St/Vicarage lane leading down to the Buttercross / Sheepwash footbridge.
The Route: follows Wye valley through Shacklow Woods, Up Deepdale then to Sheldon where it diverts to Magpie Mine for lunch then back down Kirkdale to Ashford. Approx 6.5 miles (perhaps a bit more) and there are a number of cafes (if open?) for a drink/chat afterwards.
