A varied and undulating walk with fabulous views as we weave our way up to Cown Edge through fields, farms and woodland, finishing with peaceful wandering along the River Etherow. We use good footpaths and recreational trails in the main, but when on some paths which are not as well used, there is mud and sometimes tricky conditions underfoot. Boots are necessary and a pole may be helpful. The highest point is along Cown Edge at 1270ft / 390m. There are bridges, many stiles and some steps. One uphill section of steps may be challenging as there is no handrail for support. A varied and lovely walk.
