We begin by taking quiet lanes into the hamlet of Sampford Spiney, where there will be a short coffee break and a chance to look around the churchyard. We then climb gradually on a moorland track which takes us around Heckwood Tor and then down past Feather Tor to Windy Post and the Bullseye stone. Crossing the leat, we head uphill to Pew Tor for a brunch break and time to clamber over the rocks and admire the stunning views (weather permitting). It's then an easy stroll downhill and back to the cars.
