Lovely walk along the beach to Kinghorn, where sea otters and harbour porpoises have been sighted, then proceed to the rewilded Kinghorn Loch. Continue up to the Binn, past an old mining village and works. Magnificent views.
Kinghorn Loch is a haven for water-birds and the ponds and marshes on its western bank teem with tiny creatures which feed and shelter among the vegetation. In January more than 50 bird species were recorded.
This walk is graded as MODERATE.
Some rocky walking at the beach. Steep pathway to the top of the Binn can be muddy, especially in wet conditions. Appropriate footwear and walking poles recommended.
