The walk heads north skirting "The Potting Shed" taking in Castellau and reaching the Tonyrefail Road (lane) just west of Pen y Coedcae then proceeding westward on the lane before returning south easterly via Treferig House and Nant Muchudd.
There will be an element of lane walking demanding care and the wearing of high viz vests at each end of the group. From Castellau we reach Darren Deusant (Cliff of the Two Saints) with its Celtic assocations evidenced by rock carvings. After the lane walking in the direction of Tonyrefail the rural return via Treferig House and the Nant Muchudd watercourse is very pleasant walking.
