Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform, at Piccadilly station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start. 

Transport to Walk Start: 09:48 train from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Sheffield).

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Day Return to Chinley £11.90.

Walk Start: Chinley Railway Station at 10:25

Waypoints: Moseley House Farm, Sandy Lane, South Head summit, Pennine Bridleway,  Wash Village, Alders Lane

Return Services: x:54 until 21:54, then last train at 23:04.

Extra: No toilets en route. For your own wellbeing you must wear walking boots as some areas are rocky and stony. In wet weather, waterproof outdoor clothes are essential. On the top of South Head it might be colder and windier. Optional pub visit at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs).

This is a scenic undulating walk in the Peak District, involving a long slow ascent from south side footpath up to the summit of South Head. A couple of stiles might be tricky en route.
