Join us to take in some of the stunning views on the English/Welsh border above the Clun Valley.
We'll start by walking along one of the best preserved sections of Offa’s Dyke, the 8th century border fortifications that separated the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia from the Welsh kingdom of Powys. From the dyke you can see excellent views towards hills and valleys in both Radnorshire and Shropshire.
We'll then work our way east to Rock Hill, where we can see a view over the Clun Valley, including the 12th century Clun Castle.
There's the option of stopping off on the way home in Clun for some drinks and cakes at a nice café.
We'll take a break for lunch during the walk.
As parking is limited, we're restricting the number of cars to 15. Car sharing is highly encouraged and links to the Shrewsbury/Telford car share groups can be shared on request.
The route is mostly dog friendly but some of the stiles are damaged so you'll need to be comfortable lifting your dog over fences. Please let the walk leader know if you plan to bring a dog.
Please message Jack by text/WhatsApp to join the walk.
This walk will be co-led by Jack and Matt. We look forward to you joining us!
