Join us as we start a new challenge to complete the 870 mile Wales Coastal Path! It may take a while and we're on no timeline. This will be the first walk in the series where we'll complete the Chester to Flint section. It's a 13.5 mile flat and easy walk. We'll plan to take the train together, but feel free to make your own way there and back if that doesn't suit you. Guide books say to allow 6 hours 30 minutes to complete this section - we may or may not take that long, but I've provided a buffer in the end time for lunch/pub stop.
This may not be the most exciting portion of the entire trail and will feature some paths alongside roads, but we've got to start somewhere!
Points of interest on the walk: Queensferry and Flint bridges, remains of wooden wharves, Connah's Quay Docks, birdlife on Dee Estuary and saltmarsh, Flint Castle, sculptures and interpretation along the route.
