When the leader led this walk previously he called it a sausage walk as the map looks a bit like a string of sausages. However he regretted this description after calls asking if they needed to bring their own sausages.
The walk is mainly on forest tracks with decent views over the vale below. It passes a few old industrial workings.
As there is only a small car park at the start I am asking people to meet at Llantrisant Leisure Centre. If this causes anyone problems then please contact the leader by telephone prior to Sunday.
This walk has been arranged for the Sunday when many of the group will be away at St David’s for the week end.
The walk is mainly on forest tracks some of which may be muddy, wet or have a rough surface. There are three stiles, two without step-ups and a total climb of around 390 metres. There is one short steep climb of 40 metres. There are two difficult descents, both are short; the first is very stony and the second is on grass that will be slippery if wet. Motorbikes have cut ruts on one of the paths. For these reasons walking poles are suggested.
