We are the East Cheshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Start: 10am from Danebridge, Wincle. SK11 0Q
5 miles, total ascent 900ft Moderate
Park by the bridge, opposite Wincle brewery. We’ll follow the Dane Valley Way along the river then cut up through Back Forest Farm, through the wood until we reach Lud’s Church, where we’ll walk up onto the ridge before returning past Hanging Stone to our cars. Muddy in places, though Lud’s Church itself is much improved. The Ship Inn is open on Wednsdays.
This is a repeat of a walk I did in September, when only a couple of brave souls turned up because of the foul weather. Fingers crossed for better weather this time!
