We are the East Cheshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
8 minute walk to Market Place (southbound) bus stop to catch 442 Buxton - Ashbourne bus at 08:48. Alight at the Square, Hartington at 09:28. Route: Walk back via Carder Low*, Pilsbury Hill*, High Wheeldon*, Hitter Hill, skirt round Parkhouse Hill*, Chrome Hill*, Booth Farm, Thirkelow, Diamond Hill and Grin Low* (Solomon's Temple) back to the Pavilion Gardens. Bring bus pass or £3.00 fare. Descent from High Wheeldon is fairly steep. Bring poles if you use them. We are not climbing Parkhouse Hill as the descent north is too severe. Bring packed lunch. Meet Buxton Pavilion Gardens CP by 8.20 ready for walk to Bus stop Car park £6.10 cash, card or PayByPhone app. CP opens at 8am. Cheaper car parks are available in Buxton, but the Market Place parking area will be unavailable due to Market on Saturday.
