As the name implies, there are several ups and downs like walking on the back of a sleeping dragon. We start from the car park in Pengenffordd, walking up towards Waun Fach peak, the highest in the Black Mountains at 811 metres. Spectacular views with enchanting wild ponies prancing about. On the way we’ll pass the ruins of Castle Dinas Hill Fort, the highest castle in England and Wales.
There are couple of stiles, inclines and downhills may be sharp and rocky. The track is very exposed and once up on the ridges, be prepared for the full force of the elements, so bring fleece and waterproof even on a good, sunny day.
