We are the Brighton and Hove Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A circular, largely flat walk which takes us across the wooded commons of Duncton, Lavington and Graffham. We will stop at the village memorial for a picnic lunch, there is a pub close by for those who would like a drink. After lunch we head south towards the bottom of the Downs where we begin a VERY STEEP ascent to the top of the downs. If the skies are clear, you will be glad you made the effort as we will be close to one of the highest points on the South Downs where the views are superb. The walk continues along the top of the Downs before dropping down to Burton Park where there is a beautiful church with Norman origins. Those interested can have a look inside.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. St Anthony and St George Church car park, GU28 0JY. The recreation ground is adjacent to it and also has plenty of parking. It is signposted church, recreation ground and croquet lawn.
