BOOKING REQUESTED.
From the car park we gradually ascend via Cats Tor and The Tors, to the highest point, Shining Tor (1832 feet) followed by a steep descent to the west side Errwood Reservoir and along the quiet road. After crossing the dam we continue along the dismantled railway track to the east of the Fernilee Reservoir before recrossing the River Goyt at the reservoir dam and return on tracks and paths through the woodland on the west bank of the water to The Street where we ascend back to the car park. Risk assessment: Some walking on high exposed moorland which affords no shelter in inclement or hot weather. Paths and grass may be slippery after wet weather (especially on the steep downhill section) and there is some walking on quiet roads which is used by motorised vehicles and cyclists. There is a possibility of livestock on the route and of exposed tree roots, other protruding objects and rough, uneven ground causing a trip hazard.
Please contact the walk leader if you wish to bring a dog.
Please inform the walk leader of any health issues they may need to know about.
