Overview

This is not a long walk but is more strenuous than some, as there is quite a bit of ascent. If you really hate hills you may wish to skip this one, but if you're up for the challenge, there are fantastic views all around once we get up top.

From Eyam village there is one mile of very steep ascent.  Then we walk down over Eyam Moor to Stoke Ford and on past Hog Hall, with one shorter steep ascent before heading down into Hathersage via Leadmill Bridge. There are 9 stiles and one muddy bit. (Click to enlarge the small map showing the route.)

We'll catch the number 65 bus at 9:35 from Sheffield Interchange, Stand D2 (50 minute bus ride). The walk starts from Eyam (Little Edge bus stop) at 10:25. There are toilets in Eyam and at the end in Hathersage.

Trains run back from Hathersage to Sheffield at 46 minutes past the hour and bus 272 at 16 minutes past the hour.

Please contact the leader in advance if you have not walked with the group before.

No dogs.
