Overview

Leaving Flaunden Village we head south via Long Wood to Latimer, then across Coney Wood to Chenies Manor House. We pick up the Chiltern Way and proceed via Halsey’s Wood and Carpenter’s Wood to Chorleywood where we will break for lunch. There is a Café on Chorleywood Common where toilets are available. After lunch, we take the Chess Valley Walk through Church End and Sarratt Bottom then head via Hanginglane Wood back on to the Chiltern Way for our return stretch to Flaunden. The walk is at a moderate to brisk pace along well-defined paths with two short inclines and three stiles. Total ascent of 290m. Please bring refreshments and a packed lunch. There is an opportunity to stay for tea and cake at St. Mary Magdalene’s church after the walk, for which a donation of £3.50 is suggested. If interested, we advise you bring cash.
