This is a six-and-a-half-mile circular walk, starting and ending at Wythall Park. We will be following the Footman Way which uses a variety of public rights of way and country lanes. The route takes us past the moated site at Blackgreves Farm and across Kings Norton Golf Course and close to Becketts Farm shop. We intend to eat lunch half way round the route at the Coach and Horses pub; this will be confirmed nearer the time. Please be aware - Some parts of the walk are muddy, we will encounter several stiles, there are horses and cows in some fields and traffic on the lanes, particularly near Becketts Farm Shop, can be fast and busy.
Our Wednesday walks include a lunchtime pub stop. Requirements for meals from the pub menu are usually requested and ordered before the start of the walk by the leader. Walkers who prefer to take a picnic lunch are welcome to do so and the leader will have a place designated for this somewhere near the pub, in the village, or in the area where we are stopping for lunch.
