Train-based walk

Leader: Jim, joining train at Warrington Bank Quay

Transport to Walk Start: 10:44 train from Manchester Piccadilly station (final destination Chester).

Meet Point:  In the lounge above platforms 13 & 14 at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at Frodsham Station. 

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Day Return to Frodsham £14.80

Walk Start: Frodsham Railway Station at 11:30

Waypoints: Main Street, Castle Park, Beacon Hill, North Cheshire Way, Brook Farm, Hatley Farm, Belleair Farm, Weaver Navigation, Frodsham Cut.

Return Services: x:06 until 22:06, then last train at 23:36

Extra: Toilets at walk start are small and not suited to a large group, so please try to use the toilet on the train. No toilets en route. Optional pub visit at the end of the walk.

The early part of this walk includes a steep ascent through woodland up Frodsham Hill, but there are excellent views from the War Memorial at the top. Because of this ascent, a reasonable degree of fitness is required. Much of the rest of the walk crosses farmland. There are a few stiles and there is likely to be a boggy patch near the River Weaver.
