Another opportunity to enjoy a variation on this circular walk starting from the riverside car park opposite the Unicorn Public House at Gunthorpe. We will walk up river towards Bulcote village and Bulcote Farm, a beautiful Edwardian farm built by Nottingham Corporation in 1902. From there we will head along a country lane to Burton Joyce where we will stop for coffee in the village. A walk down the village street and a steep climb will bring us above Burton Joyce from where we should get great views of the Trent valley. We will then head down Lambley Lane with its beautiful modern architecture to the lunch stop in Burton Joyce. After lunch we walk back along the Trent to Gunthorpe.
Depending on the weather, the riverside and the walk up Fox Hill can be wet and muddy but most paths were wide and fairly dry when recce'd.
We ask that any dogs accompanying us on this walk be kept on a lead.
Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
