This is a leisurely 10 mile route starting from Hamstreet, which heads over to Appledore, utilising both the Saxon Shore Way and the Royal Military Canal Path.
On leaving the village car park, we head out on the former of the above two named trails to soon reach Warehorne, we then drop down to the canal. When we reach the bottom of Kenardington, we cross over to the lesser used path south on the canal, which gives us better views of the canal, and also over the flatlands of the Romney Marsh.
After passing through Appledore, where lunch will be taken, the walk follows the Saxon Shore Way to head through Gusborne Vineyard, ranked 50th in the World's best vineyards 2024. We continue over to the quaint Kenardington Church, giving us majestic views of the Romney Marsh. Continuing on we reach Warehorne, for a pit stop in the Woolpack at Warehorne, which is one of the walk leaders favourite pubs.
After our pub stop we return on the short stretch of the outward route that we followed, for our return to Hamstreet.
