Overview

This 10 mile uphill route from Harrietsham, is one which the Ashford Ramblers previously walked in May 2022, so is now overdue to feature once more in the walks programme. This time however the route is extended slightly to visit the remote Wormshill church, which should be well worth visiting.

Heading away from Harrietsham Station at the start, we pass between the School & Trout Farm to reach Goddington. We will cross a watercourse via some rare Kentish stepping stones, before heading steadily uphill through Whiteshark Vineyard and onwards through High Wood & Salisbury Wood.

The route then joins the byway known as Drake Lane, and this potentially could be muddy in places, especially if the 4 x 4's have been having fun recently.

On reaching the road near Yew Tree farm on the edge of Wormshill, we will proceed along the country lane to the church, where our 20 minute lunch stop will be take place. Then after our lunch we return via Ringlestone, so will stop for the obligatory drinks break at the Ringlestone Inn, before descending home via Hogbarn & Marley Court.
