Overview

We walk on footpaths and a lane from Kington town up to Hergest Croft gardens where the azaleas and rhododendrons are in flower. Meandering through the woods and fields we reach an ancient castle mound with views down to Hergest Court. After some lane and track walking we being to climb up the side of Hergest with its open, mossy terrain and again great views. The next few miles keep to the same area where after a short, steep climb we arrive onto Hanter for our lunch break. After descending the same hill we have a climb (not too steep) back onto Hergest and up to the Monkey Puzzle trees. A gentle descent towards Kington town through some fields of sheep and lambs, back through a slightly different area of HC gardens arriving back to our start point.
