We start along a short section of a former railway track, turn south past a lake, then follow a part of the London Loop, in reverse of the usual direction, to the edge of Harefield. This varied section of the Loop includes a golf course, a Conservation Area and a Country Park and will enable us to have a brief lunchtime pub stop.
Mainly grassy and tree lined footpaths take us to the Grand Union Canal. After a short length of the Colne Valley trail, where there may be an opportunity for an ice cream stop, we use the canal towpath past Batchworth Canal Centre and finish along the former railway track.
Bring a picnic lunch. There will be a brief lunchtime pub stop.
