Overview

An 8 mile, moderate walk starting in The Furlong, Axbridge (BS26 2JH). We walk through Axbridge to join the cycle path, and follow this up to Kings Wood before joining the West Mendip Way to Crook Peak. From Crook Peak we head down to Rackley and pick up Cross Moor drove, initially beside the Cheddar Yeo river then we head north back into Axbridge . All the climbing is done at the beginning of the walk, once we get down to the “levels” we stay there to the end. As far as dogs are concerned, if cattle are grazing ( and we do pass through a fair number of pastures ) they will need to be on lead There are a few stiles but all are “ dog friendly.”
