Overview

Start: Leather's Smithy 10am  Approx 5.4 miles; moderate; ascent about 1000ft; no stiles and virtually no mud - honestly! Parking suggestions as the area could be quite busy: a) be lucky and park in the designated bays by the pub. b) Bottoms reservoir (SK11 ONB) and about 15 minute walk up to pub c) designated free bays between reservoir and cottages on main road, about 10 minutes from the pub. d) if you wish to extend the walk, visitor car park( payable) Route: Ridgegate reservoir into Macc. forest, steady climb along woodland paths to Standing Stone. Splendid views worthy of the ascent! Road walking to Forest Chapel and up rough bridleway before descent through woods to derelict Dimples Farm. Continue downhill to Leather's Smithy
