This walk takes us up to the ridge at Blackstone Edge, via the Roman Road / Packhorse route from Lydgate. On the way we will pass by an medieval 600 year old waymarker. The views from the top (on a good day) are wonderful. The route may be muddy in places, and there is a long steep ascent up to the edge, the terrain on the edge is rocky and may slippy, so good footwear is essential.
