Starting at Falconwood Station, we take in Sheperdleas Wood, Oxleas Wood, Oxleas Meadow and Charlton Park. We will pass Severndroog Castle, which was built in the late 18th century and sits on one of London's highest points, where it might be possible to see much of the city (on a clear day). The walk then heads to Thames Barrier and follows the Thames Path till Greenwich Park where we pass the Queens House and Royal Observatory. We finish at Blackheath, where there is a good selection of waterholes to chose from.
Pace will be a leisurely Sunday stroll of 2.5mph
Due to midday start, please have Brunch/Lunch beforehand. We will take a break midway at Thames Barrier to have refreshments and use facilities/cafe.
Option to shorten the walk en route at North Greenwich Station, should you wish to do only 8 miles.
Travel: Take the 11:50 from London Bridge (12:02 Lewisham, 12:05 Blackheath), arrive 12:15 at Falconwood.
Buy a return to Falconwood, which will cover your return back from Blackheath, where the walk ends.
Falconwood and Blackheath, are within Oyster/contactless card zones. Alternatively you could purchase a Day Travelcard and apply a Network Railcard discount (if you have one) if purchasing from National Rail Machines.
