A canal and public parks walk, starting from the heart of the city centre; taking in our city’s rich industrial heritage and its regeneration, to become a vibrant urban landscape with pockets of peaceful and beautiful oasis of green spaces.

The route is mainly flat, but with a bit of a steep descent to Clayton Vale using established steps.

Suitable footwear for walking (with a good sole - no sandals) required as some of the paths are uneven and may be muddy in parts.

This walk may be shortened in the event of poor weather.
