Leader: Mary (meeting at walk start

Meet Point: On the Metrolink platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the tram, or at the Walk Start at Cemetery Road Metrolink station.

Transport to Walk Start: 10am tram from Manchester Piccadilly (final destination Ashton-under-Lyne).

Suggested Ticket: Off peak single £3.80 (zone 3) or if you need to return to Droylsden – Off peak Day (zone 1+2+3) £4.30

Walk Start: Cemetery Road Metrolink Tram Station, Droylsden at 10:30am

Ashton Canal, Droylsden Marina, Fairfield Moravian Settlement, Ashton Canal, Lees Park, Cross Lane, Bank Lane, Daisy Nook Visitor Centre (Lunch), Hollinwood Branch Canal (disused), Oldham Way, Medlock Valley Fishery, Green Lane, Clayton Vale, Philips Park, Etihad Campus, CityLink, Holt Town, Medlock River Valley, Fairfield Park

Extra: Please use the toilet at Manchester Piccadilly. There is no toilet at walk start.  Toilets available at Daisy Nook Visitor’s centre. Optional drinks at the end of the walk in Manchester. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)

A canal, river & country/public parks' walk, taking in East Manchester’s surrounding green and lush countryside, with Lovely views of the hills around Tameside.

Some of the paths are uneven and muddy in parts (can be very muddy if we have had heavy rain).  We will also be walking through fields.  Please wear footwear with a good sole for walking - please no Crocs/sandals. There is high railway bridge that we will have to cross.

There is a bail out point at Daisy Nook Visitor Centre - 4.5 miles into the walk.
